Laca Tines grew up in a very small town in Tennessee, where she began studying piano at the age of 9 and voice at the age of 11. She went on to obtain a B.A. in vocal performance from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and a M.M. in vocal performance from Oklahoma City University. After completing her Master’s, Laca continued her training in Houston, spent two summers at the Aspen Music Festival and then, in 1999, her vocal study brought her to NYC, where she’s been living happily ever since.

Laca started teaching early childhood music in 1997. She has been licensed in all levels of Kindermusik (birth-7 years), has completed Music Together training, Level 1 Orff-Schulwerk certification, and is currently studying Dalcroze at Lucy Moses School. She has taught early childhood music, as well as private voice (6 years-adult) in Oklahoma, Texas, and New York.

Laca believes that children are just as important as adults. She is also a fierce supporter of acting silly and asking questions.
